What's for dinner tonight?

We're having duck feet

Technically that's Garfield dressed like a duck... so cat feet?

Oh who cares, duck, cat, it all tastes like chicken

Charlie's not buying it

How's that saying go?

Necessity is the mother of all invention?  Or something like that.  I made Adam Lasagna for Father's day, which is one of his favorites.  The problem is that I don't have a Lasagna pan, and every time I make it I wish I did cause a regular pan just isn't high enough to get a nice tall Lasagna.  But I don't make it often enough to justify it, nor do I have the room for it!  So I came up with an idea, I lined it with foil, and instead of folding the edges over, I left them high so I could fill my pan up complete, and even a little higher and create a faux lasagna pan.  I placed a cookie sheet under just in case it failed.  But guess what?  It TOTALLY worked!!

There were no spilled even!  AND clean up was super easy!  We also froze half of it, so I just folded over the foil from where we ate on to the other part and slipped it in a zip lock (after it had sat in the fridge overnight so it was nice and solid!  Sweet!   Now I am going to pretend that I am the only one to ever come up with this.  I'm not even going to search on pinterest to see if anyone else had this idea.  I'm pretending its all my own!!

First Father's Day

Here are very quick Father's day pics.  Adam refused to go outside because it was super hot on Sunday.  The babies also weren't too happy (Sunday's are not the most fun day for babies!).  So we did these really really fast!   These babies are so lucky to have such a good dad.   He love's playing with them and the first thing he does when he comes home from work is take over so I can get a little break.  They love him!  And while I can get them to laugh on occasion, Adam is way better at it.  They think he is so much fun!

This one is definitely Daddy's little girl!   We love you daddy!

Look at what I can do mom!

I can just imagine that's what Adella is thinking.  Shortly after learning to roll from back to front, she discovered she could just keep right on going, and so she did!

The arrow shows where she started!
Poor Charlie still hasn't figured out how to go from front to back, he hasn't even tried- I think he would just prefer to go forward as he acts like he really wants to crawl!

"Seriously mom, can you just remember to take the headband OFF when you put me in the carseat?  This is getting old..."

Grandpa's Farm

We ran to Mesa real quick today to pick some apples and we also stopped by Grandma & Grandpa Button's. While there we had a little impromptu photo shoot!  I realize with a little editing these could probably actually look really good, but my photoshop skills aren't awesome (but I'm determined one day they will be!  For now you get straight out of the point and shoot camera!)

(Yes Charlie is sitting on a can, where a chicken is laying an egg. That chicken was not nearly as happy as Charlie was with this situation)

Catching up

Adella decided enough was enough and rolled from front to back!  She had gotten close several times over the last few days, but it didn't look like she was really trying, more like she was just trying to turn her body to see things (she's always contorting her neck to get different views).  This morning though it actually looked like she was trying.  She would get super close and then all the momentum would push her back onto her back.  Well, I left the room and of course came back to this!  Why is it they always do it the first time when you aren't looking?  She hasn't done it again yet, but so excited she knows how!  Now if we can just get Charlie to learn to go from front to back we will be all set!  He's still a mega pro at going from back to front.

And in other news

Latest stats!

Yep, Charlie officially passed Adella in weight and height!  My question is, are those percents really the percentile they are in?  I mean really?  I don't think they are THAT small are they?  The good news is that they have doubled their birth weight! (Well Adella is a couple ounces short, but close enough!).  Our doctor said we could start them on solids, so we gave it a shot.  Um, you can see how well THAT went!

After 3 nights, Adella actually ate about a tablespoon.  I don't think Charlie still really gets it.    We have videos, but I can't get them to upload, so I'll try later!
