4 Months!

Adella and Charlie are 4 months now!  We are having so much fun with them and are loving watching their little personalities develop.  They go to the Dr next week, so we will find out their stats then.   They both are full of smiles and the occasional giggle which cracks me up every time!  They don't like naps and won't fall asleep unless they are being held, are in a swing or in the carseat.  Little stinkers.  But they sleep so good at night that I can't complain too much!  They are both sleeping through the night most nights, they are starting to wake up earlier which I think is because of the sun coming up, but usually we can still get them back to sleep for awhile.  (Working on blackout curtains!!!)

I love this one, they are checking out Adam, so funny!

Miss Adella still LOVES to be swaddled.  She almost instantly calms down at night and falls right to sleep, no pacifier or anything.  Its seriously night and day difference between naps and bedtime!   She's starting to fit into some of her 3-6 month clothes.  She is super strong and can hold her neck up really well, she rolls from front to back occasionally and LOVES to sit and look around.  Sometimes when she is fussy I'll just pick her up and sit her next to me and she instantly calms down.

And the man of a million faces.  Charlie makes us laugh all the time, he always looks shocked at everything you do.  He perks up at the sound of our voices and gives a completely surprised look.   He is still sleeping in a sleep sack and we are hoping that will keep his movement under control as he doesn't know how to get from front to back but is a PRO at going from back to front.  We think he's going to be very analytical as he concentrates on things very hard, Adella seems more inclined just to act!  He's also looking like he might be a lefty!

Super cheesy grin!

Shocking!

Blue!

The babies snuck onto the blue turf while we were in Boise!

Memorial Day Weekend!

I was going to post the pictures in separate posts, but decided it would be much easier just to do them all at once!  We had a wonderful time visiting my family in Ontario over Memorial Day weekend.  It was fun introducing the twins to my family as only my Parents had met them before.

Here is my Grandma and Grandpa Heck with my dad.  Adella carries both their names, my Grandma's middle name is Adella and my Grandpa's name is Ray!
Aunt Kena and Adella had matching PJ's!

This is my cousin Lori's daughter Caitlin with Charlie.

4 generations!

Caitlin and Cameron with Adella and Charlie.  Adella and Charlie were born on Caitlin and Cameron's 8th birthday!  So fun!  My cousin Lori and I are only 2 weeks apart, so to both have twins born on the same day is super fun!

Here are the twins with their mommies!

The whole family that was gathered for a BBQ- there were quite a few cousins still missing, but it was fun to be able to see so many of them!

I think Grandpa kinda liked these two, here he's telling them "no no no" when they were getting fussy.

And we just had to give the babies a bath in Grandma's kitchen sink, because doesn't every baby need a bath in the kitchen sink?!!!

Aunt Kena with Charlie and Adella.

We had so much fun but its going to be some work getting these babies back to a reality where they aren't constantly held and played with!

First Flight!

The babies all ready for their first airplane ride!

They did very well on the flight, they only cried for a few minutes when they got tired and we were both able to get them to fall asleep!  I don't think we annoyed anyone around us, it helps that they are both so darn cute that people can't help but love them!  We  constantly had people telling us how adorable they were and many people would stop and talk to them to (one lady talked to them for like 5 minutes).   So glad we survived our first trip!

Quick Pic!

We snapped this family picture real quick on Sunday, we all were kinda color coordinated so we just had to!

Diaper Review: Maci Grace

I was asked by babyhalfoff.com to review a new diaper from Maci Grace.   This is the diaper I received:

It's a one size black pocket diaper with multi-colored snaps!
Here's the close up of the snaps

It came with 2, 4 layer bamboo inserts.
And here's the fit on my 12 lb little man
In this picture it looks like its super tight around his belly, don't worry it's not I promise!  He just has the tiniest little waist and then his bellow is big, especially right after he eats!

This diaper is supposed to fit from 6lbs to 30 lbs, however I'm not sure that it would fit at 6 lbs.  I have one of the cross over snaps snapped and the highest rise setting snapped.  We have VERY similar diapers that we use and They are just now starting to get a good solid fit.   I think this is fairly typical of most one size diapers like this.      The first time I used this diaper I put both bamboo inserts in and we had absolutely no leaks!  I typically only use 1 bamboo insert in my other diapers.   The next time, I put it on Adella and tried with just 1 insert.   There was a little bit of wetness around one leg hole when I went to change her, but she had been in it for 3 hours.  I also think the insert had shifted a bit which may have contributed.   Like I said this diaper fits pretty much the same as our other pocket diapers which we love!  The multi-colored snaps are kinda fun and would come in useful for daycare as you would be able to tell them which snaps to snap.          Thanks babyhalfoff and Maci Grace for letting me review your diaper!

Pool!

Adam and Uncle Daniel took Charlie and Adella for their first swim (I'm not allowed to yet as I had minor surgery a few weeks ago and don't want the would infected).

They were unsure of what to think of it all at first, but they got used to it.  I think Charlie actually kind of liked it after awhile.  The water is still not that warm, so it will be fun to take them more in the next few weeks when it gets really hot!!

The games we play

Charlie and I have a new game.  The rules are, Charlie lies down on the floor on his back. Mom looks away for two seconds and Charlie rolls over to his tummy, grunts and groans because he is unhappy.  Then mom flips him back over and the game starts again.  I don't know who the winner is because Charlie hates being on his tummy, but he's so good at it!

Here is a picture of the first time he did it, he'd been trying all weekend but didn't make it, then Monday afternoon I left the room for a minute, came back to find this!  I was so shocked!

I think he was so stinking proud of himself because he just laid there and held his head up high.   Now when he does it he usually just grunts and groans till you flip him back. Just so he can grunt and groan and do it again.  I took this video the first day he started doing it, he's MUCH faster at it now (but still grunts and groans a lot of the time!).  When he wants to roll, its a matter of a couple of seconds!

I can't put him on his play mat anymore because there isn't room to roll and he gets super super mad.   Here he was so mad because his legs got caught by the giraffe!

Zonked

Church was a little too much for Charlie on Sunday.  Once we finally got him to take his nap, he was pretty much out.  In case you can't quite tell, his feet are dangling off the couch.

My first!

It was so fun to celebrate my first mothers day as a mom!   I was grateful Adam didn't have meetings before church so he could snap some pictures of me and the babies.  I realized I have hardly any of me with them, probably because I am usually on the other side of the camera.

I'm so grateful to be these kids mommy and to be able to spend every day with them!!

Adam does not believe me

I swear these kids hold hands all the time.
PROOF

Well that's just perfect

Fact: Apparently today is Nation Eat What You Want Day.

Fact : Well I have a large bag of Peanut m&m's and I want to eat them.

Fact: This will in no wise ruin my appetite for dinner

Fact: Peanut m&m's make everything  better

Fact: Peanuts have protein.  Protein is good for you.  Research shows that Chocolate is good for you (so I've heard).  Therefore I am practicing healthy eating.  Don't try to tell me otherwise, at least not today.  After all its National Eat What You Want Day.   And by golly I'll eat what I want.  Good thing the chocolate bazillion layer cake from Costco isn't in the house.  I'd eat that too.  Just cause I want to.

Fact: I could eat the whole bag. Today. By myself.  Its been one of those days.  But if you come visit me I MIGHT  be persuaded to share.   Offer good until 5:30 pm, Arizona time.  After that they are all mine. BHAHAHAHAHA
