Project Life Week 12

Big boy!

I finally found a white button down for Charlie so he could wear some of his ties!  They are still a little big, but he sure was handsome just like his daddy for church on Sunday!

Visitors from Alaska!

My Uncle Chuck and Aunt Valerie were in Phoenix for a few days and stopped by to say hi and meet Charlie and Adella!   It's always good to see them, it's been about 5 years since the last time we saw them!

Charlie and Adella were of course fairly reserve at first, though Adella was grinning up a storm at Aunt Valeria!   Adam and I had both left the room for a moment and Charlie actually ran over to Uncle Chuck and crawled up into his lap!  He doesn't do that often!

Hopefully someday we can visit them in Alaska!

A Place to Play

A few weeks ago we rearranged our living room a bit.   Our couch has an angled back and Charlie and Adella were small enough to crawl behind it, but would get stuck because they couldn't turn around and then cry for our help.  It was getting difficult at times to get them out easily!  So we pulled the couch up and created a little play area.  It's actually really nice because they like to play back there and it's easy to get toys out of sight!

Alisa taught us a trick with the straps on the high chair that make the straps higher and tighter to try to keep Adella in.

Yep.  Didn't work.  

Project Life Week 11

Sunday Fun Version 3.17.13

On Sunday we had Adam's siblings and families over for dinner.  Daniel was in town and it was Matt's birthday so it was a perfect time to celebrate!

It was so fun watching Brycen play with Adella - she was loving it! 

These two cuties were enjoying there Sherbet. 

They paused long enough to give me a couple of great grins!

Pillow fights!

Charlie has recently discovered that pillows are hilarious.  He'll rip them off the couch and proceed to roll around on them and laugh and laugh.  Sometimes Adella gets in on it too, but Charlie is always the one who starts it.  Who knew a pillow could be so funny?

Another first

Maybe I'm silly for capturing all this random stuff, but seriously there are some things worth getting excited for, like the first time you can put your kids in a shopping cart!   Since most stores don't have double seaters, we haven't ever done it.  Adam is always with me at Costco so we just use the stroller there too.   But I just got my own Sam's club membership (thanks to a sweet livingsocial deal where I ended up getting it completely free!) so I headed there on my own!  Honestly I was a little scared of putting them in that cart, but they did great!  I'm gonna have to really watch Adella though because she will inevitably try to climb out (yes even strapped in, she's a magician).   I also must say that as much as I despise Walmart, I actually kinda love Sam's club!

Strong Man

This little dude figured out how to get up on the couch by himself.  It's not a regular thing yet (luckily) but it's just a matter of time!

Charlie also learned to blow kisses this week!  I was actually really shocked because we haven't really worked on it - my mom always does it when we skype and he has mimicked her once or twice.  But this week I asked him to blow a kiss and without showing him he did it!  He's kinda stubborn and won't do it regularly but has done it enough times that I know he knows what he is doing!

Play Date

Play date is a little bit of a stretch considering Charlie and Adella were easily the oldest babies, but the Mom's enjoyed this little morning meet up!  We had a lot of young couples move into the ward last year and they pretty much all had babies!

Charlie and Adella were mostly happy in the stroller for awhile while they ate lunch but soon got restless.  Charlie was instantly on the run and I spent the rest of the time chasing him down!

 Luckily, Adella is quite content to sit on the blanket (or at least stay very close by) and just play with whatever she can find.

It will be fun to get together with these ladies every week and chat, since my kids are the only ones that are mobile, I'm not sure how long I will be able to keep up!

Feeling Domestic

I busted out the wheat grinder last week and ground up a whole lot of wheat!  I like to grind a huge batch up and put it in the freezer so I don't have to get the grinder out and clean up the mess too often.  I was really afraid Charlie would freak out at the noise so I had put it off for several days, but finally decided to go for it!  Magazines did the trick and both Charlie and Adella were nicely occupied while I completed my project!

Project Life Week 10

Week 10!  I seriously love this system!  I seriously spend 1 to 2 naptimes in general doing ALL my blog posts for the week and doing my project life layout!   Makes me so happy!

Sunday Fun Version 3.10.13

Sunday afternoon we headed to the McKellar's house to celebrate Grandma Button's birthday.   Charlie was in heaven!  He was so happy to run around and explore.  It was actually amazing because lately he hasn't let us put him down in big crowds for a second - but he actually threw a fit every time we tried to pick him up!

He didn't even mind when the big dog came to say hi!

Adella was quite the opposite.  She was content to just sit on Daddy's lap and observe.   We only wish she would do that at church!  Don't know what goes through their little heads!    

Later she did get down and play for a bit, but after awhile ended up on Grandma's lap where she stayed for the next hour or so.  It was seriously strange.  She didn't try to climb down, didn't wiggle, didn't try to reach for us when she saw us.  She was just loving snuggling with her Great Grandma!

And just for fun, there was a little Where's Waldo action going on.  Uncle Jay and Grandpa were wearing the exact same shirt and little Collin was matching too!  So fun!
