School Spirit

Last year the whole tutu in the name of team spirit did not go over well.  Adella was seriously NOT a fan!  But this year, the girl loves her tutu!   Evidenced by the fact that I could not get her to stand still to take a picture!  I asked her to turn around for me, and you know what she did?  She turned around!  And around, and around and around!  Little stinker!

In an attempt to get both of them in the same shot, I got desperate and opened the window, plopped them on the couch and said look out the window and wait for daddy to come home!  (To be fair, he was due to be coming home!)  Anyway, it worked long enough for me to snap a picture!  No the best with the light blaring in, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do!

Killing me with cuteness!

I'm sure every mom feels this way, the moment you can finally put in pigtails is amazing!  And I find it only gets better as I can get more and more hair in those pigtails!  Seriously, I die!

A little more play time!

While we packed up and cleaned up, my dad entertained Charlie and Adella outside.   I love watching these two play outside - they are so happy and just love exploring!  I'm getting so giddy for fall when we can play outside anytime we want!

Grand Canyon!

One of the highlights of our Northern AZ trip was going to the Grand Canyon.  My parents had never seen it and I had only been once (and it was raining).  Both times I have been amazed at the greatness of it.  Pictures can never do it justice!  It truly is something everyone needs to see in person!  I would love to hike it rim to rim someday!  Again, you can see the blue tint, until about halfway through when I FINALLY realized it!  Whatever!

I showed Adella how to sit on a rock, she was obsessed with finding perfect rocks after that!

Northern AZ!

We spent a long weekend up in Northern Arizona with my parents - it was sooo nice to get out of the heat and spend time with them!  Charlie and Adella really warmed up to them this time.  Charlie especially thought Grandpa Heck was pretty darn funny!

Sadly, I forgot to put my memory card back in my camera, so I didn't have it for the first day and half we were there!   We stayed at a Ranch outside of Williams so getting into town to get a new one wasn't a quick trip!

We had planned to go into Flagstaff one night to go to the observatory so we stopped to grab one.  Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate with us so looking at the stars wasn't going to work.  We settled for getting dinner at Bun Huggers instead!

Charlie and Adella LOVED being able to play outside, and Grandpa and Grandma were happy to oblige!   I've mentioned before I got a new camera and am still learning how to use it.  I didn't realize until much later that I had my white balance set wrong, so all my pictures have a blue tint!  UGH.  I can usually tell when it's wrong when I take pictures inside, but it was so bright outside I didn't notice until the next day!   

Funny story, Grandpa took them on a LONG walk, while they were walking they got a call from Adam (we woke up to a flat tire one morning and had to go get it fixed and he was calling to give an update).   Grandpa turned his head for two seconds to answer and Adella had taken off and started to climb through a fence into another pasture!    He caught her just in time!  Luckily there was no barb wire on that one!
