8 months!

We hit 8 months last Friday!  I have most enjoyed watching their personalities come out even more and seeing them learn all sorts of new things this month.   We ventured outside for our monthly photo shoot this time, the sun wasn't quite down yet, but we had to take advantage of their happy nature when we could so the lighting isn't perfect, but they are!!

My good friend Mary was here visiting so I enlisted her help getting some pictures of ME with the babies since I am always on the other side of the Camera.

My months are starting to run together it seems, but this month they both learned how to pull themselves up to a standing position (though they often struggle getting back down).  They have started to do very small side to side walking movements while holding onto something.  Not very often though thank goodness as I am SO not ready for them to be walking.   They both crawl awesome and can fully crawl up the step in our living room, they can also get down OK, though if the step was bigger we would have problems I think.    They are both sleeping through the night again most nights - Adella STILL likes to be swaddled.  I don't know what we are going to do when she gets too tall for her swaddling wrap!  Charlie still uses a pacifier to go to sleep but doesn't need it any other time.    They have started to really enjoy books - especially if they have flaps to flip!

Adella's current funny quirk is her 'o' face and 'oh' sound - she still is obsessed with her feet and back crawls too.   Charlie has recently started sucking on his lips - I think he likes the sound it makes.

Adella still LOVES food!   Charlie likes it but loses interest fast.   They like everything we have given them (with the exception of the Avocado that Charlie gagged on).   I don't remember what new foods they have had, but most of them have been in blends anyway.  Right now they really like anything that has pear in it.  They can pick up cereal puffs and I can also roll tiny banana pieces in crushed cereal and they can pick those up to eat.  I like that they like to be independent eaters!   Adella can also use those little pouches and suck almost all of it out by herself.  Charlie doesn't really get it, but he isn't quite the foodie she is so he probably just doesn't care to work that hard!   I think he still prefers his bottles mostly.

I am super excited for it to start cooling off (it's October and still over 100! Good grief)   so we can go on walks.  They LOVE being outside and I need the exercise!!!    I would love a double Bob jogging stroller so I could run with them, but for now walking will have to do!

We just LOVE these guys!

Big Girl!

Adella was being grumpy so Adam was taking her around the house to do different things.  He took her into the room attached to our dining room (I don't know what you call this room but we rarely hang out in there unless people are over).   He plopped Adella on the couch and she thought she was pretty special!

Grasping

I love watching these guys learn new skills; last week it was picking up and putting little cereal puffs in their mouth.

News flash

The most appropriate way to read a book is with your feet.

This is especially important if the book has flip up pages as by using your feet to hold the book leaves you TWO free hands to flip up open those pages.

There you go, you learn something new everyday.

Saying bye bye to daddy!

The babies were having fun with Adam one morning before work and got a nice big squeeze before he left!

And Adella just had to flash me her 'devil' face

Sunday Fun Version 7.16.12

The babies had been fussy and were all of a sudden quiet, we looked up to see why and realized they were watching the blue box bounce around the tv.  It's mesmerizing to them and they love watching it.  Reminds me of an old episode of The Office.

Someone thinks they are so smart

Yes Charlie, I am so proud of you that you can pull yourself up to a standing position and pull on the wii cords and cause all sorts of trouble.  Oh and thanks for teaching your sister how to do it to.   Most of all thanks for having the gosh darn cutest smile so I can't even get mad at you!

Pinterest Project Complete!

I always feel so accomplished when I actually complete a project I find on pinterest.  I was super excited about this one, I don't really know why but I just had to do it!

I had seen this post about making fridge coasters and thought it was so cool.  I went to target the next day and what do you know, the same coasters were on clearance!   Plus they match my kitchen, so how could I not do it!

The original tutorial was for a side by side fridge so she used fewer mats, I actually ended up needing 10 of these, but at just $.98 each I felt it was still worth it!   I LOVE opening up my fridge and seeing the pop of red and it's going to be so much easier to clean spills!  Especially the right criper drawer because the only way to get it out is to pull the fridge out away from the wall so the door can swing all the way open.

Little leopard

My mom has a thing for leopard print so she just had to make a fun little shirt/dress for Adella and found some matching shoes too!

And of course Charlie did not want to be left out of the picture taking!

Funny faces

Adella started a new facial expression this last weekend, I don't know where she got it but it's pretty funny.   She makes an 'o' face - most of the time when she gets excited or right before she gets mad.  It started out just making the face, but then developed into making the 'o' sound with the face which is hilarious.   I had been trying to get it on camera, but she always stops when I pull the camera out and she sees the flash.  But last night Adam was reading them a story and she started making the face like crazy so I caught it on video!  It's not the greatest quality, but you can see and hear her do it.  I managed to snap a few still pictures during it, which are also not the best quality, but I don't mind because I'm just glad to get the picture!

Great Grandma and Grandpa Button

Last week we had a play date at Great Grandma & Grandpa Button's.  Though Charlie and Adella aren't really into playing with others yet, they did have fun just being outside and getting lots and lots of attention from Aunts, Cousins and Grandparents.   Adella found a new friend, a little dog whom she liked a little too much - way to much smooching going on between those two!  Sadly I didn't capture a picture of that, but I did grab one of them with Great Grandma and Grandpa who happened to be holding them at the same time!

I managed to get them to both look at the camera, but I didn't realize I cut off Grandpa's smile until later!  Whoops!

Sunday Fun version 9.9.12

Most of these pictures are straight out of the camera, but I'm trying to start doing minor editing on the pictures that go in my scrapbook (using digital project life and LOVE it!).  Can you tell which ones I edited?  Do they look any better?

Adella had REFUSD to take a nap at all the whole day, finally around 4 she gave up the fight in daddy's arms.
