Caught!

These two were caught being adorable!  Silence is seriously scary sometimes and often I'm just too afraid to go check out what the silence is all about!  This day I was pleasantly surprised to find this scene:
I Love that they were reading books together in the corner behind the chair in their room.  Adella is even reading scripture stories!  Now, I'm not sure how they got those particular books because they should have been on a shelf out of reach.  But it doesn't matter cause I was just happy to see them being so good!
A little later that morning they brought even more smiles to me when I came out of our bedroom and saw them running down the hall for me holding hands!  Um, cuteness!  We've been working on holding hands with each other but I've never seen them do it unprompted by me!

You say it's your (half) birthday!

In honor of Charlie and Adella hitting 18 months, I wanted to share their 1st birthday pics that haven't yet made it to the blog.

I had so much fun planning this party.  I've always been a Beatles fan, and before I got pregnant I had seen a Beatles party thrown for twins and knew that if I had twins I had to do it!   I borrowed lots of ideas from around the internet, but also came up with some of my own.

First up the Sweets!

 Psychedelic Smash Cake!

And our food menu

I also had a lot of fun making a photo wall (and truth be told, this photo wall is STILL up 6 months later!)

This was one of my favorite parts, "I want to hold your hand".  I was so excited that we had these pics of both Charlie and Adella holding their Daddy's hand as tiny little babies!
I made these heart collages in Photoshop and printed poster size and blued onto foam board!  How's that for cheap huge artwork!

We had lots of friends and family there to celebrate, but none our parents were unable to be with us physically, so they joined in on skype!

And unfortunately these two were not overly excited about their smash cakes.  They were slightly overwhelmed with all the people I think and didn't really get into it.

But we did get a few smiles afterwards!
