The Theme is..

STUCK!!!

These last few days all I do around it here is pull Charlie out of precarious situations.  Our living room had to become baby proof FAST for this little guy.  One day nothing was safe, cords were instant attraction as was just getting into places that looked like they might be fun.  None of these places pose any serious danger, except that Charlie can't back up.  So when he realizes he can't get out, well then its all over and screaming commences.  Mom comes to the rescue (but of course not before pictures are taken).  Seriously, all of these pictures were taken over the course of a couple of days, and there were many more instances where he got stuck in the same spots; we've tried to put up barriers, but every time we do he manages to find somewhere new to get stuck!

He chased a water bottle and another container back here

Saw a book back here that looked fun...  Oh and a few hours later got even further back behind the chair, bumped his head on the wall and was not a happy guy.  He got back there again the next day when Adam put him down for two seconds to finish feeding Adella.

Between the couch and dresser - this one was not fun because as soon as he lifted his head up he was really stuck!  The couch angles out a bit, so he was in a mess of trouble.

Between the pack and play and random stuff

And two minutes later UNDER the pack and play on the other side.  I seriously came in the room and was like where the heck is he?  I could hear him screaming and finally realized he managed to wedge himself under there.  We had to lift the pack and play to get him out.

And today he figured out he could turn in this corner (can you see what he is after? Yeah, the cord, I don't know how we can hid that one).

and of course this little rascal is now trying to follow him.

I see some trouble in the future.  Pretty sure it's not going to take Charlie long to figure out he just has to come up with the ideas and then get Adella to try them out first and see if he gets into trouble.  Can't wait.

6 months!

Charlie and Adella are 6 months old!  Can you believe it???   We were lucky enough to have my awesome Sister in law Rachel take photo's of them right on their 6 month birthday.   Here are a few of our favorites!

We still haven't worked out how to smile at the same time obviously, darn kids!   They both have the cutest grins and I would love to be able to have one professional photo of them smiling at the same time!!!

A few days later I was able to take them for their 6 month checkup where they were again declared perfect!!

As you can see their weights are still a bit low, but you wouldn't really know it by looking at them!  And for twins, they are great! (the % are compared to single babies).  Charlie is widening the gap on Adella, though most people look at her and think she is bigger because of those chubby little cheeks!

At 6 months these two can both roll around any direction (except backwards, but that's another post).   They can also scoot around pretty good and charlie is already very good at army crawling.  Both of them are soooo close to just full on out crawling, especially Charlie.  He is out of control and super fast!  He gets up on his hands and knees and can propel himself pretty darn good.  Neither can sit well unassisted; we try but they just want to run off and play!
This month they have tried green beans, butternut squash, sweet potatoes and applesauce (I think they still prefer the acorn squash the best!).   They don't make faces much anymore when we feed them, but sometimes they are definitely not in the mood for 'solids'

They love to be sang too, favorites are still Old McDonald, Wheels on the Bus, Itsy Bitsy Spider (there was lots of Itsy Bitsy singing going on to get Adella to smile for her pictures) and Bingo - anything that has motions is a clear winner (I could use a few new ideas for those!!!)   Adella especially loves it when I sing primary songs/hymns to her.  Her face lights up EVERY night when I start singing to her in her crib.  She gives me the sweetest grin and calms right down.  Charlie likes it to I guess but doesn't ever give me any kind of reaction like Adella does.
We are almost bib free around here when its not meal time, though I still have to clean up spit ups alot (mostly they go on the floor anyway since they are crawling all over).   And teeth appear to be right around the corner as there is lots of drooling, fussing, ear pulling and chopping on anything that can fit in their mouth!
They are so fun to play with and make me laugh EVERY single day!  I'm so lucky to be able to stay home and take care of these two!!

Not all spiders are bad

Wait what?  Did I say not all spiders are bad?  Yep, that's right.  I have one spider in particular that is currently my fav...  His name is Itsy Bitsy.   We are obsessed with Itsy Bitsy around here.  Turns out its the cure all for grumpy times.   Adella is Itsy Bitsy's biggest fan.

Although she doesn't look super happy in these pics, what you should now is that moments before these was major meltdown city.   But once itsy bitsy starts playing, all is well!
