We got to spend a long weekend up in Ontario with my family - it was so great!  There had been some really great deals on flights and we knew we needed to take advantage while Charlie and Adella still get to be 'lap babies'.

Flying this time was a little more interesting than a year ago.  These two just want to play so keeping them in the stroller and happy in a busy airport is difficult.

We did have a good seleciton of snacks though that did the trick for quite awhile.

Our flight did get delayed by an hour or so, so that kinda made it more difficult.  We boarded the plane about the time they should be going to bed, which would be great if our kids actually would fall asleep in our lap in a strange surrounding (whose kids do that anyway?_.

Luckily, the plane was not full and we could actually share a row and have an empty seat between us.

Our attempts to keep them occupied mostly consisted of books, which worked pretty well, except that the magazines and fliers in the seat back pockets seemed to be the most fun!  We were quite a disaster scene, luckily we had a really nice stewardess that didn't give us any nasty looks. 

We got in to Ontario pretty late, everyone was waiting up for us, but we all headed to bed so we could get some sleep and have fun the rest of the trip.

Great Grandma and Grandpa didn't waste anytime loving on these two. 

We also didn't waste much time before heading outside!  It was a little chilly but my grandparents back yard is beautiful and just the place to let this little guy go wild!

Adella took a little while, but eventually loved it just as much.

My Grandma has this BEAUTIFUL pink tree in her backyard and it was in bloom when we were there.  Oh how I miss trees like this!

We tried to get a good picture of Charlie and Adella under the tree but every time I'd get them set and ready, Charlie would do this

and off again

and eventually he tried this

Grandpa was there to help him though (which was good because that chair wasn't too stable!)

We tried putting him up in the tree - but quickly got him down as we discovered there were lots of bees buzzing!

And then we put him in another tree

He wasn't a huge fan of that either

I settled on just getting a few shots of Adella alone who happens to LOVE sitting in chairs!

After all that hardwork playing outside, Charlie and Adella relaxed on Great Grandpa's lap.  Amazingly they both sat there for a good half hour.  

Adella eventually got down, but Charlie remained there for another hour.  I don't know who this kid is, because my Charlie won't even sit on our laps for 5 minutes, let alone anyone else's!

But not even ice cream could persuade Charlie off of Great Grandpa's lap!

I didn't seem to get my camera out much the next day (Saturday), we mostly just played inside because it was really windy, we also had some nap struggles that we had to work through (but I did get a nice two hour nap cuddled up with Charlie!  Adella even fell asleep in Grandpa Heck's lap with the TV blaring and all!)

That night we decided to give Charlie and Adella their first very own ice cream cone!  Oh my they LOVED IT!!!!  It was a very small scoop and adella finished off all the ice cream and about half the cone, but Charlie ate the WHOLE thing!

These last two are from my phone, so not great quality, but I LOVE them because you can see how truly happy Charlie was eating that cone!

On Sunday we played outside again, it was a little nicer especially when the sun was out.  Charlie discovered the neighbor dog and had so much fun playing with him.

Adella mostly just wandered around, occasionally she would be interested in the dog too.

They also got LOTS of practice with stairs!  They went up and down and up and down these stairs over and over.  They actually got pretty good at it!  There were a few tumbles, but no major injuries and they bounced back up ready for more each time!

That afternoon Grandma had a nice picnic for the whole family and we had a twins reunion! 

I'm still amazed that all four of these guys share the same birthday!  What a crazy little miracle!

Since Charlie was actually sitting still, I got my parents to pose too.  Pose is a loose term for what my dad does.

No that's not the camera catching him off guard.  It's totally on purpose!

Adella finally discovered Grandma's dishcloth cupboard and had fun ripping everything out

Then on Monday it was time to head back home.  We got  a few last minutes photo's in before we left.

What a great trip!  We loved seeing our family!
