When Daddy is in Charge

We have popsicles BEFORE lunch.  

And eating said cold treat while it's still in it's package is overrated.  Charlie prefers to shake it out and grab it!

Little Monkeys

Charlie and Adella still aren't officially of nursery age, but have been enjoying their time in there, and apart from a little toy thieving I think they are doing OK!   Since Adam has been in their to help with them he is learning the songs they are learning.  One of the favorite is Three Little Monkey's Swinging in a Tree.   They LOVE this song.  Especially Charlie.   He can do all the motions, though he usually doesn't do them together.  He first learned how to swing the monkey's in the tree followed by making his arms move like the alligator (which is hilarious because he growls when he does it).  But most recently he is obsessed with 'SNAPPING' the monkey out of the tree! He LOVES that part!   He almost acts like he isn't even paying attention until we get there and then he goes nuts!   Adam said that in Nursery this last Sunday they started singing time and Charlie was snapping the alligator before they even got to that song.  When they finally sang it, Charlie for sure put on a show and had all the leaders cracking up at him.

So here he is in his "snapping' glory.  I hope to get it on video too because you can't fully understand until you hear him as well!

Kisses!

Last week I was holding Adella and said 'I'm gonna kiss you' when to my surprise she puckered up and kissed me!   Usually when we do kisses at bedtime we just get giggles so I wasn't expecting that.  Then I tried later with Charlie and sure enough he gave me a kiss too!

When Adam got home I was telling him about it and we decided to put it to the ultimate test and see if they would kiss each other.  HILARIOUS!   They obliged in kissing and giggled like crazy!   Adella especially thought it was funny and even when Charlie was distracted by the remote it did not detour her one bit!  I'm so glad I grabbed the camera to capture this moment because now when we ask them to kiss each other they will start to do it and then just giggle and laugh so much that they can't do it!

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS ONE!!!!!!!  And I'm sure someday Charlie will hate me for it!

Mall play area revisited

We hit the mall again last week for some indoor playtime.   There was actually a National Geographic Kids event that we went to check out, and while cool my kids had had enough after sitting for about 30 minutes.  So we moved onto the play area before all the other kids did.

I was pleasantly surprised at how much more adventurous they were this time- a few weeks back they basically did nothing!  This is good and bad, it's good that they are learning to play when they aren't in familiar settings, but bad because I have to be extra good at watching since there are two of them!  I almost had each of them escape at least once.  Small panic attacks for mom!

A path of destruction

 I don't know why, but I still find it amazing how fast Charlie and Adella can leave their mark.  These pictures were taken within 15 minutes of getting up from their nap and the house was fairly clean and orderly before.

And lately when Charlie sees the camera, he just has to be in the picture so he is blocking much of the damage.

Also lately he has this thing where he likes to blink and close his eyes funny after the camera flashes.
