September 15-21

Adella didn't want anything to do with going on stage at kids club when the puppets were out, but as soon as they brought out the instruments she was all in!   This time both her and Nora got to go up at the same time.  Charlie had a chance, and again had NO interest!

Marilee discovered she could grab her toes and also grab onto the toys on her bouncer!

My friend Laurel snagged a science museum pass so we went.  The kids liked the one room that was really made for them, the rest of it was a bit much for them.

The fun snack from the library!  It's seriously the best to get fun snacks they look forward too!  This time they made a rice cake cat!
The love rolling around in these scarves I made for singing time

The big news of the week was Marilee getting her g-tube

Pre Surgery

You would think at a children's hospital they would have gowns and socks that fit!  Not even close!
Right out of Surgery, very sleepy and in lots of pain.  So so sad.

She pretty much did tons of sleeping while there.  It was pretty rough because we just wanted to cuddle her, but every time we picked her up she would hurt from being moved.  And the hospital furniture is NOT conducive to cuddling a tiny baby!  It was nearly impossible to get both of us comfortable!

By the end of the first day she started flashing her beautiful smile a bit
And by the next day was much better, still super sleepy and in pain, but for sure better!

This is my favorite pic!  Love that she kept rolling onto her side

We have had to stock up on all new pj's because all of Adella's were zip ups which don't work so well with a tube!  So I started grabbing whatever I could find in the right size!  So cute!

We are so glad to be back home and getting used to this whole g-tube business!

September 8-14

Big crazy news of the week here was the floods of course!  I was awake when the rains started at our house (at 3 am) and it's hard to believe that just a few hours later the freeways looked like this!!

We took advantage of the cooler weather that day and broke in the triple stroller!!

Nora, came to visit.   She likes to attack Charlie

This one is so stinking cute!  This is waiting to have her upper GI scan

And right before.  She is loving to put things in her mouth, fingers, bibs, blankets, clothes.  Whatever is handy goes in her mouth!  (Which for a kid with an oral aversion this is a big deal!)

Seriously, sometimes we just wonder how we got so lucky to have her!

We also built a tent city.

And I didn't take anymore pictures last week!   But that's OK, we don't have to document everything!  It's our life and we love it!

September 1-7

We hit the library at least once a week, one of the libraries does a play on the go activity where they just have fun play stations.   This time they had a balance beam!
And perhaps my favorite part about play on the go is the free stuff!  We always get at least 1 free book, often a fun activity to do together AND snacks!  Seriously, I love it!  This time it was PB, graham crackers and m&ms.   When they wake up grumpy from their nap I just remind them of the fun snacks and happiness instantly happens!

Playing out our other favorite library, this week they put out blocks!

And sitting in the big chairs.  I seriously can hardly get them to leave this library!

Marilee had her 6 month checkup.   10 lbs 11 oz and 23 1/4 in long.

Charlie was super mad about something, who knows what.  This is a regular occurrence after nap time.

One day Adam went in to wake the kids up from their nap, and Charlie wasn't in his bed, he had crawled up on the bear next to Adella!

Friday night Adam told them they could watch a movie and eat popcorn after dinner.  They were in HEAVEN!

Great Grandma Button sharing some cuddles with Marilee!  They were pretty good buds for a couple hours!

Playing with water bead and other fun stuff at Nora's!

August 25-31

Once a week we change out Marilee's tube - that means for a couple of hours she goes tube free!  I cherish those times just looking at her perfect little face!
Marilee also rolled over for the first time last week!  Back to tummy!

Her preferred sleeping position- laying across our legs on her tummy.  We do this A LOT!

Charlie and Adella love the library!  I loved that I caught her sitting in this big chair with a big pile of books reading to herself.   She had no idea I even took the picture she was so into her book!

Playing at Nora's again!   They all climbed onto this kitchen helper, pretty sure it wasn't made for four!

They did water bead painting this time.

Charlie is still not too sure about this stuff

But Adella seems to like it!

Charlie just doesn't like getting dirty in general.  I think he must have a bit of a sensory issues when it comes to stuff like this!   Hopefully as we do more of this stuff he'll decide it's fun to get a little dirty!

Afterwards they read books, all four lined up on the couch!  So cute!
