Foot Soaking

Charlie had a large blister or something going on with one of his big toes.  Alisa suggested we soak it in Epsom salt.  It's a good thing I have Adam around to come up with genius ideas to get Charlie to sit still!   He put him on the bathroom counter with a bowl in the sink and propped up Winnie the Pooh on the Ipad.  Worked like a charm!  

Park hopping

As I drive around I am always on the lookout for parks that look fun.  The one by us is convenient but somewhat boring with only 1 play structure that really is too big for our kids.   I spotted this one the other day and with the 'cooler' weather we decided to check it out!

It was pretty awesome!  They have a large structure designed for 2-8 year olds and another for 5-12 year olds.  Both had TONS of slides and lots of places to climb and walk around.   In the end though, Adella was of course most interested in the swings!

I can't wait for it to cool down for good so we can go on some more park tours!

It's raining It's POURING!

We had a few days of awesome rain!  One day it was literally pouring!  The streets around our house were actually flooded - we had actually gone to the library and the pouring started on our drive home.  I was going to stop at the store but decided I didn't want to get out in the rain.  Good choice because a little while later there were streets around us closed!

It was so nice to be able to open up the windows and let the air in.  I Set up a watching station for Charlie and Adella - anything to entertain them for a few minutes right!

That evening we went on a walk with daddy.  Daddy got them ready and strapped in.  Apparently he thought they needed shoes but pants were optional?

During our walk we saw this - the storm was so bad it knocked a huge cactus over onto a house!

Then we came back for FHE and chocolate cake!   

Charlie was a fan and begged for more, Adella on the other hand only ate a few bites and was good.  Who is this kid?  

Sunday Fun Version 9.8.13

I honestly don't remember what I was trying to capture here, I'm pretty sure I was trying to get them doing 'popcorn popping' or something like that, but as you can see all they are doing is laughing at Daddy!

Children's Art Museum

Every first Friday Target sponsors a night at the Children's Museum.  We've heard great things but it's a little pricey, so checking it out on a free night sounded like a good idea!  

We headed right up to the toddler room when we got there and were the first ones in!

Honestly, I am not sure they knew really how fun the place could be!  They are so timid around new things (especially Adella).   We did go to a few other rooms but it was complete chaos (expected given it was free!).  I think it will be several years down the road before we consider getting a pass.   I think we'll stick with getting a zoo membership this year!
