A little of this and a little of that!

I've been in a crafty mood the last little bit, so here are some of my recent projects!

For Easter, I made my niece and nephew some fun accessories!

Handmade Tie for Brycen and Flower Clips for Sadie!

New Table Runner
I opted for these cute suckers instead of flowers... they were way cheap and last longer (as long as I can keep Adam from licking them!) Plus I thought they were very spring!

Nursing Cover and Burp Cloths for a Coworker

You can find patterns for both of these projects all over the Internet, I used some as a guide and then added some extra flair!

Where have we been?

Yes I know its been a LONG time since I've really posted about us. We are still down a personal computer, but I've hooked our camera up to Adam's computer so I can get some pictures off of it.. sorry no picture editing capabilities so all you get is my raw pictures! So here goes a whole multitude of our recent adventures!

Central Oregon
First off, we spent the first weekend in May in Central Oregon with my parents. It was beautiful and relaxing. We checked out a fish hatchery and spent a lot of time relaxing - here are some pictures from the weekend:

Northern AZ/ Grand Canyon
We spent Memorial Day Weekend on a Ranch in Northern AZ. It was fun to get away from the heat; it actually rained on us nearly the whole weekend. We had a lot of fun with Adam's family; we played lots of games, did some shooting and went to the Grand Canyon.

Here are some pictures from our drive up, we stopped in Sedona and some other lookouts along the way. It was so pretty!

We had to stop at the Alien Shoppe! I had no idea that Sedona was a huge UFO hot spot

The Grand Canyon was Amazing! It was my first time there and I always knew it was huge, but it really is something you can't imagine till you see it!

It rained off and on the whole time we were there, but Brycen sure didn't mind! He had the hookup!
Shooting!

So there you go! We've been here and there! Whats next? A super sweet post of my recent crafty projects! WOOHOO!

Yeah, I know I have been a blogger slacker. I have been in denial. Our laptop is officially dead. And that means my pictures are stuck there until we can get them off the hard drive - which can only happen if we have another computer to put them on. We did have an older PC that Adam's sister gave us, however it has a problem with freezing up. We thought we had it fixed, but not so. So for now, no pictures and probably very few updates!

However, I did want to report that I jumped in the pool this week! Its still a little chilly as the water gets deep, but it was pretty fun to get in there. Hopefully it will be nice and warm for Brycen's birthday party next week.

Sushi!

This fun night actually happened a few weeks ago, but I thought it was still worth posting. After seeing several shows on the Foodnetwork about sushi, we decided it would be fun to have our own Sushi night. Alisa and Matt as well as our Friends Brittany and Tiatia came over and we had a great time rolling and eat our homemade sushi. Mostly they were just California rolls because we live in AZ and I thought buying raw sushi quality fish here would be a little sketchy. But we had lots of variety and everything was great!

Adam demonstrating the proper rolling technique. Make sure you have lots of water handy!

Some of our fillings... we had smoked salmon, crab, avocado, mango, green onions, carrots, tempura shrimp, wasabi, pickled ginger. Pretty much everything you could want in a sushi roll! The cooks!
Adam & Tiatia showing off their creations!
I was pretty excited that day when I realized I had the perfect dishes for the night. Plates and bowls from our wedding reception. Yes they were bright pink and green but they were square with delicate flowers and I thought they looked very Asian (except the color). I was also happy to have found another use for them.
I think my nephew Brycen had the most fun with the Sushi. If you cant tell he (and the floor) are speckled with sticky rice. It was my first attempt with sticky rice and boy was it sticky! But Brycen LOVED it! Every time he was anywhere close to the big bowl of rice he would just stick his hand in and it would come out covered.
