Marilee is 1 month!

Marilee's 1 month mark kinda snuck up on me!  I coudln't think of anything super creative to do, and lets face it nor did I have the time or energy to do it!  I thought I knew exhaustion when I had the twins, but this whole experience has showed me a whole new level of exhaustion!

Anyway, back to the important girl.  She's had a few big weeks.  She started getting tub baths and LOVES them!  Seriously, I wish I would have known about doing swaddle baths with the twins because they hated their first few baths.  Marilee especially loves when she gets her head washed, but really enjoys the whole thing!

My mom got to hold her a few days before she had to go back home.
More bath pics

And we finally brought in some of the clothes we bought for her.  She's growing so fast we were afraid she wouldn't fit into them anymore!
She got to move out of her isolet and into an open crib!  This is so great because it makes it so much easier to hold her.  She's easy to get out and since she's already wrapped up we don't have to swaddle her or anything.

The Bishop's wife saw me post a pattern for a NICU gown and immediately made one!  However, Marilee was already almost too big for it!

On April 2nd she got to have her first bottle!  She did amazing!  She's allowed to have 2 bottles (or breastfeeding) a day, but they only do it if she is alert and acting interested.  She's still sleepy much of the time so most days we are only getting in one session.   She just needs to get a bit stronger and stay awake a bit longer!   We know this is going to be a slow process, but we are getting very anxious as this is really the last big hurdle before she can come home!

That same day, she got moved out of the Continuing Care Nursery and into the overflow NICU!  Super exciting as only the most stable babies go over there.  We love it because she has her own room!  We can order room service and we have a bathroom so we don't have to leave the unit.   It's seriously great!  Adam is excited that he can watch basketball and baseball (we don't have cable at home).

And these are the pics I took at 1 month - I didn't realize till after that it was her 1 month

This is some of the equipment she uses to eat with.

And I had to try her crochet dress on her because she is getting so big I was afraid it wouldn't fit for much longer!

We could not get her to look at the camera, she only wanted to look at me!   These pics were taken at on 4/5 and she was 4 lbs 10 oz. As of last night (4/6) she weighs 4 lbs 12 oz!

Playing with Grandma

I wasn't very good at getting the camera out a whole lot while my mom was here.  But here are some of the fun things they did!

They found a box and set up a 'slide'

Played with sidewalk chalk

And went 'grocery shopping'

They did so many more things together and I'm sad I didn't capture more, but they had a great time with Grandma!  We all loved having her here!

So so happy to be home!

Charlie and Adella were so happy to be home and have both mommy and daddy back!  Seriously I could not believe how happy and cute they were especially those first few days! When Grandma and Grandpa brought them home, Adella got really mad at Grandma when when she turned the corner to come to our house instead of continuing down the road to the hospital.  But she was super excited when she got in the house and saw mommy! She was super cute and cuddly and so so happy!  When it was time to get ready for bed she asked Grandma to read her a book and literally laid down right on top of her!

The excitement didn't stop the next day!  They were glad to show off for mommy!

Seriously, I had nearly forgot how fun and cute my kids were!

Charlie had to don a hard hat in preperation for church.

He was not too happy to get out of his car when it was time to leave!

Adam took the kids to church and dropped me off at the hospital on the way ( I wasn't feeling well enough to have them climb all over me at church and I still couldn't pick them up).   Adella screamed when Adam dropped me off at the hospital - I think she assumed I was going in and not coming out again!
