He likes it spicy!

We've discovered that Charlie loves spicy things, well at least he likes spicy fries!   A few weeks ago Adam had gotten some spicy fries from five guys and Charlie gobbled them up- he wouldn't even touch the regular ones.   We had these spicy sweet potato fries in the freezer, and sure enough he LOVED those too!   And really, they do have a kick to them!

Sunday Fun Version 3.3.13

This was one of my favorite Sunday's in a long time.  It was so much fun!  Charlie and Adella were both pretty good at church (as good as can be expected for someone who just wants to run around and play!).    Adam even taught Charlie how to go up AND down the stairs by the stage.

It's pretty hilarious lately trying to take decent pictures of these two because they are just too fast!  I have LOTS of blurry pictures and pictures of the back of their heads or super close ups because they come running at the camera.

I guess it gives me a chance to document that their hair is actually starting to get fairly long!  Adam want's to cut Charlie's but I'm not giving in yet!   Adella has a nice mullet starting and I can't wait for the top layer to get longer so we can trim up that mess!   I've started brushing it multiple times a day in hopes that it will calm down, but I don't think its working.

After church and naps Charlie and Adella were both pretty happy and played well and were extra happy (for a Sunday anyway).   But the real fun began when we got ready to take them on a walk. I was cleaning up the kitchen from dinner and I heard Adella laughing (OK cackling) hysterically   I though Adam must be tickling her or something but actually she was laughing at Charlie.

Adam had put their jackets on and put Charlie's hood up and Adella thought it was just about the funniest thing ever.  She was laughing harder than I have ever heard her laugh and she kept pointing at Charlie and following him everywhere.   Charlie loves when people laugh so even though he didn't know why she was laughing, he was pretty darn happy too!

After our walk we decided it was about time that Charlie and Adella experience their first chocolate chip cookie.   They kinda enjoyed it!

Adella decided one cookie wasn't enough and began stealing Charlie's.
I think she got my chocolate loving genes!

More cuteness

I've been so excited for it to warm up to start putting some cuter clothes on these kids!  Um, hello bubble skirts (yes again with the bubble, but I can't help it!  Bubble rompers and bubble skirts kill me with cuteness!)

And Charlie kept running so fast towards the camera, this is about the best I could do!  His shorts are still a little big, but hey I'm not buying 9 month size shorts at this point!

New Beginnings

Last week we had New Beginnings for the Young Women.  I have so much fun being the Personal Progress leader and being able to plan these activities!  We went for a true New Beginnings theme and focused on Beautiful Butterflies.  I gave a short talk to the girls talking about how butterflies go through a transformation before they are beautiful butterflies, and how they have to struggle and push there way through the cocoon to develop into their true potential.  As Young Woman we also go through many struggles and trials, but these help use grow and develop so we can obtain the gifts and talents to survive throughout the rest of our lives.   Butterflies must go through there struggles to develop the wing strength to fly, and we go through the same thing!   I also shared this thought from President Monson:

Many years ago, at an area conference held in Helsinki, Finland, I heard a powerful, memorable, and motivating message given in a mothers and daughters’ session. I have not forgotten that message, though nearly 40 years have passed since I heard it. Among many truths the speaker discussed, she said that a woman needs to be told she is beautiful. She needs to be told she is valued. She needs to be told she is worthwhile.

I reminded the girls that they are beautiful!   And they are important and worthwhile!  And as they complete the goals and experiences found in the Personal Progress program they will develop the strength (wing strength if you will) to endure this life.

Our decorations were lots and lots of butterflies and all the girls got to take home butterfly wings of their very own!  One of the highlights of the night was also a music video made by our Young Men.  I had seen where a few groups in Utah had done a music video shortly after President Monson's talk, and lucky for me our Young Men's leaders agreed to do it for our girls!  The Young Men did a music video to One Directions "What Make's You Beautiful".  It was quite hilarious actually and the girls loved it!  It was a beautiful, fun night!

Rocking Frog

Lately we've been having fun with this Frog Rocker - up until now Charlie and Adella weren't too stable on it.  But now they can sit there pretty good!  Charlie has even figured out how to climb off it without falling!   He likes it a little more than Adella right now, though she loves to dance to the music it plays!

Later in the week, Adella did decide it was OK to get on the frog

And of course Charlie needed another turn!

Lately Adella has been doing a scrunchy face when she smiles - so cute!

And Hello bubble rompers!  Be still my soul, I can't get over the cuteness of them!  I may have to buy everyone I see!

And don't worry, Charlie figured out how to get snacks out of his container just fine too - just took a couple more days than Adella.  He's a pro now!
