We stopped on the side of the road to hike up to the Limon Waterfall. When we got out we asked how far it was and they said 1.4 km, so we figured we could handle it OK. Unfortunately we also forgot to bring our child carriers so we just had to carry the kids. Well, that didn't turn out so swell either!
As we began our hike the guides kept coming by and asking if we were sure we didn't want horses. Apparently we were the only crazy enough ones to not choose horses! The hike was a little challenging but not TOO bad. The bad part was Charlie and Adella wanted to also hike it themselves!
I'm sure you've seen or heard about the blog floating around where the mom took pictures of her kid crying and subtitled them all "my baby is crying because" well, my baby is crying because he want's to hike up the mountain all by himself!
Mostly it was a lovely hike, if we could go back we probably would have hucked the kids on a horse! But we still would have hiked it ourselves! There were a few spots they could walk themselves but for the most part it wasn't infant friendly. And when we did let them walk, it took forever because they just wanted to stop and look and touch everything! Our poor tour guide was very patient with us!
We made it down to where all the normal people with their horses were and then we had to hike down a whole bunch more steps to get to the actual falls. It's never encouraging when all the people coming back up are huffing and puffing!
But it was worth it!
On the way out we found some chinola fruit (Passion fruit)
And Charlie happily walked by Grandpa
